"Two time combat vet & Purple Heart recipient. When on my first deployment, I was shot in the head. I still carry the bullet in my head today. I reenlisted after a few facial reconstruction surgeries and went back on another deployment. In 2012, the Army had to kick me out for medical retirement reasons. I am disabled, but I can travel with ease. In 2018, I lost my house to a fire and lost everything. I need a break in life. I need this, please.”

“My husband is a hard to the core Jarhead. He is a Vietnam Veteran who wears his patches proudly. He watches Operation Fishing Freedom on Sunday morning on the Discovery Channel. He is emotionally moved by the stories shared as he feels a connection with each soldier. He still manages to wake up every morning with the need to fulfill life with "Will and Determination" while silently battling PTSD."
-Wife of a Combat Veteran, Sharon B.
“My son-in-law, Adrian (Aj) served in the Navy as a Master-at-Arms. He is the sole survivor of an ambush in Iraq in 2004, and nearly died himself. He suffered a spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and is legally blind. Through over 30 surgeries, years of physical therapy, and lots of perseverance, Aj learned to walk again and navigate life while being legally blind. Aj loves fishing and feels at peace when he’s on the water. We’d love to see him featured in an episode. His witty one-liners and the pure joy on his face when he catches a fish would be fun to watch."
